The Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District is a political subdivision of the State of Minnesota established to carry out a program for the conservation, use and development of soil, water and related resources.

The Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) was organized July 3, 1944, and is governed by a five member Board of Supervisors, who are elected officials, are nominated by voters in the entire county and serve 4-year terms. The board sets policy, hires employees, and is responsible to see that the operations of the district run effectively and according to law and rule.

Mission

The mission of the Lincoln SWCD is to:

  • Identify existing and potential problems and opportunities for the protection, management and development of water and related land resources; and

  • Develop objectives and carry out a plan of action to promote sound hydrologic management of water and related land resources and effective environmental protection.


What We Do The Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District and Natural Resource Conservation Service provide a number of services, technical assistance and programs to the landowners and operators of Lincoln County.
