    Lincoln County is seeking applications for the position of County Veterans Service Officer. Under the general direction of the County Board, the County Veterans Service Officer advises ad assists veterans and their spouses in obtaining veterans benefits to which they are entitled. Duties include, but are not limited to: performing administrative work, interviewing veterans or dependents to determine eligibility for various programs, assisting clients in completing required forms and compiling and submitting data as required and additional tasks as assigned. This position is responsible for administrative matters of the department, including budget preparation, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and scheduling. The position also conducts and participates in meetings with veterans and Veterans Administration staff.

    Candidates must be a resident of the state of Minnesota (with preference given to a resident of Lincoln County), citizenship in the United States, a veteran as defined in MS 197.447, software experience, supervisory experience, good data processing and communication skills, and be able to deal effectively with the public. The position is contingent on certification by the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs.

    Salary is negotiable and dependent on qualifications.
