What Is Emergency Management?

Emergency Management is the process of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery within a community or organization. Reducing hazards and overall coordination for disasters are the key functions of Emergency Management. Effective emergency management relies on integration of emergency plans at all levels of government and non-government organizations.

What Does Lincoln County Emergency Management Do?

Lincoln County Emergency Management is responsible for overall emergency preparedness throughout the County. We update and maintain Lincoln County’s emergency operations plans and strive to exercise these plans on a regular basis. Community education and awareness of hazards in the county are a high priority. We provide assistance to local jurisdictions before, during, and after a disaster event. Lincoln County Emergency Management works closely with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management as well as our neighboring counties to ensure adequate resources are available during disasters.
